This cordless vac went beyond my expectations! I probably have owned every cordless vac out there. They functioned like every other cordless vac, just average. Don't get me wrong, if your thinking this will replace your corded vac, it won't.. I have dogs, cats, birds so for me i need a vac that i can whip out for a quick pick up of bird seeds, litter and hair..I was really surprised how much this vac actually picked up. It definately has alot more suction than your cheaper cordless vacs. I got about 18 minutes of vacuum time switching between beater bar on then off for my hardwood floors. In my opinion i think you need the extra battery for a backup and i'll tell you why. The lithium ion batteries in the Linx is different than your cheaper cordless vacs. the cheaper vacs you can use for a few minutes and then put it back on the charger to recharge..the linx you use until it is completely discharged..which means if you need it for a quick pickup you can't use it because the battery is being charged. all in all i would definately recommend this vac but get the extra battery~! Love it!
