If you're like me - you hate having to sweep and mop your floors everyday or so and trying to keep everybody off them until they dry. I have 3 dogs and it is almost impossible. I had an older version of this Powermate way back when and absolutely loved it - though I wished it had had a spin scrub.... When it finally died I tried the Bissell Flip-it - and was very disappointed - it washes and vacumms but doesn't scrub and doesn't really clean too well. It soon developed a leak so I finally bit the bullet and got another FloorMate - the price here was too good to pass up - especially with free shipping. I put it together in a few minutes and tried it out - it was love at first try - It is easy to load - easy to empty - easy to push - has a wide cleaning base and does a great job of cleaning and pulls up all the dirty water after. I never use the dry pick-up - I just use the wet wash and let it vacumn the dirt with the dirty water.... Works great though I do have to clean the dog hair out of the intake occassionally. Now I don't mind running this over the floors as it dries right away - and you would be amazed at the dirty water that gets emptied - kind of horrifying actually.... Corners and edges are impossible for any machine to truly clean - but it makes a pretty good stab at it. I haven't yet tried the grout cleaner or the attachments... I've also heard that some people use vinegar in this machine instead of cleaner solution - I might try that next as I don't like too many chemicals on the floor with the dogs. All in all - a great product for everyday use....
