The pet odor (from cats) was totally removed. However, the actual cleaning ability of the shampoo was not as I would like. If you have carpet that is not heavily used or tread upon, then this may work. For really heavily used areas, you may want to try something else.Customer Review: Pretty decent!

Works amazingly, smells GREAT, easy to use, not too expensive. We have 4 cats and had a 5th and the (meant to be replaced over 5 years ago) carpets show the wear, tear and every sickness and party. I don't know how much better this pet formula detergent is than the regular carpet detergent, but it took out a lot of dirt in conjuction with the Hoover 5912.
