Asked Go Vacuums and this filter is not any different from the non-washable. They said that Amazon controls the description and they cannot change it.
Filter can be washed without ruin, but taking a stiff nylon brush to it outside seems to work better.

I had ordered this, thinking it was a genuine Hoover product. It came without any packaging or labels...seems like they are selling generic products... I feel a little bit duped. I had purposely chosen to not order a generic, but it seems like that's what I got. We'll see if it works. In any case, I'm not sure I'd order again from this company-they're not sending you the product they are advertising.Customer Review: works as expected
